How are you supposed to know what size to get her?  We went to a jeweler the other day, and of course he started out small, but by the time i dragged her out of there, the guy had managed to get her into a 1.5 carat ring for like $8,000.

I don't have that kind of money, obvisouly… So, if she likes 1.5 carat would she cringe If I got her a 1 carat? Can you get a 1 carat that looks bigger then a 1 carat?

It depends on the design of the ring, pick out some big one piece stone ring instead of many small stones.
