Yoda Groom Cake

Yoda. What could possibly taste better then a 1,200  and some odd year old alien named Yoda. We are not sure. We love the idea of the Yoda groom cake, but quite frankly, we are not sure if we could choke down bits of the Galaxy’s ultimate spiritual cheerleader. Besides, after 1,200 years, maybe the frosting is a little tough? lol

Enough todays installment of the Yoda cakes.  It was a very close call , but our favorite is the third Yoda. The texture and attention to detail (well they all have great attention to detail), is what won us over!

Alien wedding cake

More craziness at the reception! This salubrious confection appears to be styled after H.R. Giger’s “Alien” design. Note the Bride and Groom Larval Aliens on the top. No word what is inside the cake or whether something comes jumping out of the cake’s belly.

Darth Vader Cake

Ok, so it is not really a wedding cake…or a groom cake…and we said we thought a Vader Head Cake would be less then salubrious… but then we got schooled from one of our readers about this very cool Vader Cake.  Even though it is a birthday cake for kids, we asked ourselves the question…well, what, after all, is a groom cake, but a cake for a grown up kid!? Underneath the choco frosting is an enticing four layer cake carved into shape. Add some artistic talent and cue the sound effects a Vader head fit to be served!

Off the Hook Star Wars Wedding

This couple has set the bar pretty high for a Star Wars’  Themed wedding. Actually, they have set the bar pretty high for ANY themed wedding. Hell we thought we were geeking out when we went to Vegas and went the Paramount Star Trek Experience (different universe…I know). I even got my pic in Captain Jean Luc’s chair and ate at Quarks! In fact I was roasted by a Klingon and a Ferengie. Something about all expiring Bachelors must drink Romulan Ale… the rest is a blur.

Star Wars Wedding

Ok, I know I said that last week was Star Wars week, but when I typed “Star Wars Wedding” into the Googlebox, up popped 22,000,000 (million!) hits. I mean, that is a lot of hits for people who use the Force to get hitched. So, I guess this will have to be week two of Star Wars.

I think the hardest part about pulling off such an event would be convincing the Prewife of its necessity. You could say, “but honey, I always pictured Yoda ministering at my wedding”, or “now you can wear the Metal Bikini!”, you know, say things that will really excite her and give her a glimpse of how the rest of her life is going to go…sweet.
